Madcatz new android minipc for gamers ign review

I wonder if this device will get the same problems ? No zoom and touch controls in some games and applications
Perhaps there will be a finless rom for this as well who knows lol

I have been following the MOJO since it was first rumoured and I am pretty much set on getting it as a mini pc rather than as a gaming device, with an eye looking for alternatives til its release. Note that Tegra 4 seems to be on par with Snapdragon 800, that is a completely different league than our rockchip sticks.

Come on, tegra 4 tablet hardware on a 4watt mini home server? I am sold already. My smartphone is using an Imito QX1 as personal cloud of sorts and I am using as main "pc" for email and web browsing. It can only get better with Tegra4 or, if I can dream, top of the line Snapdragons.

My only concern is NAND speed, but it cannot be worse than the awful eMMC on rockchip based devices (so far).

I really do like my T428 rk3188 but i think with the tegra 4 the mojo will be far from it in the good direction i mean it will be impossible to compare this will be something else on the performance chart.. The Mali400 gpu really needs to be replaced its getting old and limits the possibilities with a quad core cpu

        reduced price

The MOJO has been reduced in price from the original $250 to $200. Considering you can get a MK908ii for about $70, that's about a 3x price for hopefully 3x the performance boost.

Got one but tv states 720p not 1080p,so trying to get help in a thread I made in the same section as this one.But yes overall the mad catz m.o.j.o is super fast,eg. I transfered a game 2.87gb at 20.3mb per second took just over 2 mins so that is incredible performance it's leaps and bounds over everything else as a cpu for mobile gaming and general browsing etc,my k-r42 takes ages and I mean 20mins plus easy to do that transfer of 2.87gb, if I remember right?
Gaming is great but the menu bar is present in some games infact in most and 720p i hear is rare for android games to bew set to,a down side is youtube and watch tv apps both are nowhere near full screen they have huge borders all the way around, you also have to have a screen orientation app to turn eg.360 security app into landscape or it is sideways on screen.
Buti have it going now the right way up lol.But mad catz m.o.j.o are good units, but sorry mad catz you said it's an open android ui so why have you not got eg.resolution settings as all current open android devices and closed android devices I am aware of have the resolution settings options on them, this means your ui is not open it's custom/open isn't it?

Messaged them at mad catz over 24hrs ago in the uk support section and they still haven't bothered to check or reply after seeing the message, the way it's going by the time they do game will probably decline to refund cash on it,or even replace it at a guess i reckon, customer relationships between mad catz and game are pathetic in a nutshell in my personal exzperience thus far,and with absolutely no true paper user manual provided, just a meesily lame tiny 14 page quick setup illuistrated guide in an app built onto it at purchase,it really anoys you. There are no true detailed user guides online to operate it, it's a total joke from the get go,if your stuck your stuck nobody answers anything anywhere but here on the subject of m.o.j.o consoles

The ui (user interface) software basically the operating system that they had a hand in redesigning at mad catz is appaling, really they tried and failed on it.It looks great but they removed resolution settings from it and it p@sses me off because i can't determine what the f@ck resolutyion it is on now thanks to that.

They also don't answer emails I have sent to uk support within 24hr periods of time which is a joke again bet if i was buying they would though,GAME uk high street store don't even know what a m.o.j.o console is and i actually had to tell him what to type online to get to the advert, had to tell them so I could even just order it which it was not found in store, and they then had the biggest cheek to say. Call an 0843 number to get assisstance from a company a third party called TMTI to know why 1080p is not showing up over the hdmi cable and as far as I see unless its upscaling and tv doesn't know it then it's 720p not 1080p?

I think GAME uk saying phone a premium cost number apparently 10p per minute after shelling out £179.95 of which i paid £135 in cash and i payed all there and then is a disgusting thing to say. They wouldn't even phone them or email them at mad catz on my behalf, they said they aren't allowed to call them or email them,so how do they communicate then if that's got a greain of truth in that response?

Wait until I get the resolution debate answered and then decide if you guys who are curious might consider buying this console as as it stands i am currently regretting it so far, I'll let you all know asap. They will probably take time at mad catz buy that time GAME will likely say they won't refund me so i will pay a bit of attention now to the reciept date.

Mate for everyone who bought this sake,i hope finless can be good enough to get straight onto that rom even if it cost me £5 mate i would say that's the best £5 you could ever have spent on it.Because so far i am not impressed with the sh@t os.It looks great handles great but lacks everything bog standard android os is all about.@finless please do get onto manufacturing (cooking) a mad catz mojo rom please.I will donate that £5 and i should expect all owners would if you sold it at that cost.Provided that it gains 1080p setting for resolution to use as native device resolution without having to adjust anything.
