Looking to pick up one. Appreciate if anyone can enlighten:
1. Is there a list of upcoming s912 with 4GB Ram & 32GB/64GB Rom?
2. Is s912 considered the best of the currently available TV Box octa-core chipsets (eg. RK3368, a83T/a80/H8, MT8176 etc) for video playing?
3. Does it support 4k/60p output compatible with 4k TV?
1. amlogic s912 can support 3GB DDR3 not 4GB and for flash can up to 2T
2. yes ,amlogic is the best among those chipset.
3.Does it support 4k/60p output compatible with 4k TV?
Yes
All the new box seem to be stuck with 1/2 gb ram and 8/16 rom,r box pro only the exception. These box makers need to up there game because their is no point upgrading for the casual kodi user.

I'm not really sure how 4Gb of RAM is really going to be of great benefit unless there are specific apps that can really take advantage of it.
Android is a small OS as it is that quite happily operates within 2Gb.
It may well be that if you are going to use one of these boxes as a daily productivity device as opposed to a Windows based machine, where you will have multiple applications open at once then 4Gb could be of use.
DNIZoid I can empathise with your viewpoint. The up in the game has to be in producing a product that works out of the box as advertised.
Additional WiFi antennas would benefit for streaming, more USB 3.0 would be a nice to see.
Based on the fact that most of these boxes are purchased for the use of video playback and streaming and perhaps gaming, these are probably the most important areas for improvement, so GPU performance will be far more important than adding more and more CPU cores.
The S912 is the SOc that many have been waiting for, so we will just have to see from reviews to come whether it lives up to it's billing.
