    Amlogic S905X - Which Android-TV-Box to buy?

    Hello.

I´m looking for a Android-TV-Box with this specs:
    - CPU AmLogic S905X
    - OS Android 6.x
    - 2GB Ram, 8/16GB Rom
    - TV-Out analog (AV) & digital (HDMI)
    - Firmware-Support from Manufacturer and/or FreakTab
    - Price between 25-35€

I found the boxes on Gearbest:

    - "Mini M8S II"
    Pro: Lots of support
    Con: No AV-out

    - "Sunvell T95X"
    Pro: AV-out
    Con: Very few support

    - "TX5 Pro"
    Pro: AV-out, Wifi 2.4&5GHz
    Con: Few support

The last one (TX5 Pro) seems to be the best choise according to my specs above.
Has anyone other product-suggestions or any hints for me?

    Cheers,
    Lelo

PS: Is it possible to boot Ubuntu/Debian from the SD-card to run a small homeserver?

Hard to say right now. I haven't seen Linux for them yet.

Support for these new boxes will grow but to what extent may depend on how good the initial experiences are and how often the manufacturers will release fixes.

Might be worth waiting a few weeks to see how things progress.

I have no doubt that there will be a few more vendors releasing their own S905X boxes soon too.
R-TV BOX S10, Beebox N3150, Chuwi Hibox, Nvidia Shield, A95X Max

Well, I think i will buy a complete different box - with S912-CPU:
        - 2GB Ram with 16/32GB Rom instead of 8GB Rom
        - GPU Mali T8xx instead of Mali 4xx
        - 1000MBit-Lan insteda of 100MBit
        - Maybe USB 3.0

After some tme they should be sold for 60-70€ via China-Shops.

          S912 doesn't support USB 3.0
OpenElec will initially also not work on S912 since it uses a complete new GPU which drivers first have to be developed for Linux.
Better to wait around 3 weeks and not buy one of the first S912 that will also have hardware bugs that can't be fixed later.

Any recommendations here for the same criteria after over 2 months?
