Problem with normal USB port on MK809II

    Hi all,

Since recieving my MK809II i am striving to get a working XBMC install on 1080p resolution using it's native player.
So from start i have flashed a lot and inserted and removed my powered USB hub a lot of times.
I also have installed heatsinks and cut holes in the housing

Here is the problem i have run in to; the standard USB port does not send and recieve data anymore
If i plug my air mouse reciever into it, it is not recognised. And same happens with the other peripherals.
When i plugin another usb hub, not powered, the on/off light turns on so the port still provides power.

Perhaps the solder is somehow scratched by removing the housing? Looking at it i cannot see any damage but as i have no micro electronics knowledge that does not say a lot.
Attached are some close up photos but the fine detail is not visible off course. But perhaps someone can point me to a spot where to look more closely?

I have bought a micro usb to usb female adapter for use on the otg port and doing so can continue playing around. But it would be nice if someone has an idea how to fix it.

Things i have done are reflashing a normal non overclocked kernel Imito Finless 2.0 ROM and the 1.7a version. But no result.
Making sure i have enough power for the stick; i use a 5v 2100mA ac plug for the stick, and the powered USB hub gets 5V 3A using a phillips ac supply.
Attached are some photo's of the stick including heatsinks and active cooling. And yes i have used LEGO to build housing for the stick, 3 fans, usb hub and place for the excess wiring as i have no experience soldering and 3 plastic containers were destroyed in the process.

In the first image, there seems to be something on the PCB and USB connections that looks like grey paint. What is that? Or is it just some weird reflection in the photo?

I am not sure what you mean but i am sure there is no paint on the pcb or the usb connector. Attached is another photo with less reflection.

Yeah, it must have just been some weird reflection from the flash, then.

I can now add another problem to this non functioning USB port.

My pc recognizes my stick when i put it in flashmode using the pushbutton and then connecting it to the pc using the otg port. I even hear the ding sound but no version of the ROM Flash Tool or RKBatchTool says that a stick is connected.

I have reinstalled the drivers on my Windows 8 pc but no luck.
The stick functions normally otherwise and can be put into flashmode as stated.

          Please help?

Well digging deeper and deeper in this forum i found a solution for above problem. It was given by mr Bob himself in post http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...ome-USB-ports!
            My stick is recognized again.
In itself it is strange because i haven't changed anything in my pc and have always used the same usb port.
            But thank you Bob!

Leaves only the original problem regarding the not working USB port
