NEXBOX A95X Alternate Firmwares S905 non X

Hello All,

I did debloated 905_MXQpro_aml_upgrade_package-20160530 firmware with the Amlogic Customization Tool.,
to my custom needs which is a Mediaplayer box with Android and Kodi and maximum memory usage course i own the 1/8Gb version.

LibreELEC, Openelec are not an option as they dont shut down/restart properly (Holding power off button).
F/W 20160530 is the most stable Android i tried.

Removed:

All Pre install apps, scripts (old Kodi, FB apps ect).
Android Telephony stuff.
Default boot animation (replaced with a cooler one)
Google PlayStore Incl core framework and all other traces.
Pretty much everything else except File explorer, Recovery reboot (added), Update&Restore App.


Working:

Wifi
Audio
Ethernet
Hardware video decoding & encoding
Hardware acceleration and OpenGL rendering
HDMI
Remote control
SD cards
USB OTG (storage, mouse, keyboard)


Issues:

The regular Android Video & Audio playback issues .-)


Root:

Tested on the Blue mainboard rev v1&2.

ez root works fine.

I test tonight... Thats good thing about marshmellow apps can be small alocation because you can use sd card as system anyways. Does sd as system work on this one?

Ok nice launcher but you may have taken to much out.

No taskbar.
No play store
No browser.
Kinda limits what you can do with this build. But adding some of those missing items may be more then average user can do...

But debloated

Sd card cant format as system but think thats lack of notification and task bar issue. It sees it but clicking it does nothing doesnt see it in storage opitions.

scooter2014 i did remove browser and play store on purpose, killing those (background) services improves much memory.
Off course for people who want to make use of the play store they can better look for another image..
I wonder if goolge play store app/services apk reinstal will make all work again.

Ill lookup the taskbar issue and the SD problem.

I always need besisdes superSU/root sdfix for permissions (once) in order to delete files on sd/usb.
Works great, can be uninstalled afterwards the permissions are staying.

Browser and playstore are kind needed for most. But being as its marshmellow biggest thing is being able to use sd as storage would mean no need for deleted maim apks.
