s905 with 1GB ram but only showing 775mb

Hi guys!

I just bought a Kata Box2 with s905 and 1gb ram.
And its not really a good performer. Its been really sluggish to the point that I cant really use it.
I checked the ram and its only showing 775mb.
I also checked that zram is enabled on this device with 500mb reserved space for it and swappiness is set to 60%
is this normal for s905 boxes with 1gb of ram?
Is there a way for me to claim some more ram?
i have several 1gb ram android devices and gives me around 860mb free ram to play with and its now even sluggish compared to my s905 box.
can i use other roms with this box?

Lots of RAM is used up by the operating system.
And 1GB RAM is mostly 800-900 real RAM on AMlogic devices.
So it's normal.
