Tronsmart Vega s95 Telos Power issues

    Hello All,
Two weeks ago I received my brand new Telos, and it happen to be DOA.
Vendor from China is asking to send him back with tracking number for full refund, I checked with USPS it will cost me $64 to send it there.
I guess I have a broken Telos that I would like to fix.
Here is my issue: Device get's hot, and on HDMI output I get flashing logo. (front light solid blue)
From various guides I find out that Telos need to be flashed, as soon as I connected USB M-M cable to this device OS came right up...
So what I'm thinking is happening is that Power supply on the board is shot. Does anybody know if it's can be fixed?

5V from my desktop PC to Telos started OS, I was able to insert the WiFi key and check for firmware online. I turned Off Telos, because it was getting very hot.

    Thank you

Did you open the case ? IMHO we Should start with the inspection of parts. Perhaps there moved the radiator or the screen and creates a short circuit.

Well if not power supply timevto open up start checking soder joints then test caps leads ect. I had one that luckly had cap at in lead that had blown so was easy fix. Another one had over soder at power lead that caused instant short. Hopefulluly its a easy see one. More. anoying doa boxes..... More money then most boxes worth to return

I understand that, when using a TV box without plugging in the regular power supply to use to power the OTG USB port, TV box normal works ?
By the way, on my Odroid C2 observed a similar situation. When using a standard plug of the power supply, fixate on odroid running (turns on and after 1-2 seconds turns off again then turns on and after 1-2 turns off, this happens continually. When the power is connected through the USB OTG port it works normally. The only limitation to Telos when powered from the OTG USB can't use a SATA connector and limit the use of external devices powered by USB.

                  Thanks Balbes 150
Vendor send me an option to
send them DOA unit for full refund and shipping, so I did that this morning.

Yea, device was working from OTG USB port, but I was hopping to have fully functioning device for the price that they sold.

Can you recommend better device as my next option ? I'm new to this technology, so I see that many people using Vega S95 Telos that was my only research

                  Thank you.

The choice of model depends on what You need to get from a TV set-top box.
