usb burning tool windows 7 and mini m8s.

hey every one,
Im new to the android box world and stuff so please be easy.
im trying to apply the wifi fix for my mini m8s from the following link.

my problem is i cant get anything to boot into recovery since i installed TWRP onto my device. (i think thats the issue any ways)

i cant get USB burning tools to recognize my device on windows 7 (im assuming it has to do with twrp?)
Im using a basic male to male usb cable to connect the box to my computer. and i get the driver installed fine at the end of the usb burning tool install but my windows install always says the device is unplugged.

i also tried the sd card fix from digital me on page 6 of the link but i couldnt get that to flash either.

not sure exactly what i did but some videos loaded the image file before connecting the box to the computer. i tried this and it worked. so i guess my problem is solved.
