MXQ Pro kodi can not write to SD card

My MXQ Pro Android 5.1.1 OTT TV Box has a strange problem. It can R/W SD card while under Android. However, kodi seems to see the SD card as RO media. When I tried to backup my kodi configuration using the Backup add-on, it complained with a write error message as shown below. Does anyone here have some clues how to fix this?

You can also use SDFix.apk

If you want to side load it you can download it from http://apkdownloader.com

In the Search box add: nextapp.sdfix&hl=en

At least you have 5.1.

Android Marshmallow 6.0 is a train wreck for Kodi external write access.
