Rooting the Nexbox A5 Amlogic S905X 2G/16G

I'm gearing up to get this rolling this weekend and post results+method in the tutorials section.

I've gathered this involves using a ROM customization tool to inject the SuperSU.apk. Is it just that simple?

1. Download Stock Firmware
2. Download SuperSU.apk
3. Inject SuperSU.apk into ROM
4. Flash modified firmware

Am I on the right track?

So I'm following and I notice that my A5, as you noted, does in fact have the service already defined, and has `su` and `daemonsu` in place already.

So this just leaves:

1. Place SuperSu in /system/app
2. Replace boot files

Presumably without those boot files it would brick my device?

Right. Should work. Or if you want check out the mod in the firmware section

I'm getting endless USB Control Setup errors and can't accomplish the flash.

Would it be possible to install SuperSU via adb?

When you install and run SuperSU from Google Play it just says "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!"

When I applied the stock update, I had to do the SD method, so ADB and SD are seemingly my only option for some reason. My Saturday was not very productive, I'm back to square one.

This rom is already the root, there has been no change in the original rom, but to put the root.
