Sumvision Cyclone X4+ S905 any Root method yet?

Any Root possible for Sumvision Cyclone X4+ S905

I've tried every method to root for this Amlogic S905 device with no success.
    It's running Android 5.1.1

All the one click root apps fail.
I've tried the EZ root method with every option given in the forums.
The closest I got was by deleting all files apart from the EZ root zip which I have also renamed to update.zip.
The image shows the closest I got to getting root.
Before this method I was cache and failed to mount errors etc

Tried using 32gb micro sd fat32 empty apart from the nedeed file.
Also tried using usb drive but that wouldn't mount.

I don't have access to a pc for a while so stuck with this box and android phones and tablets to attempt for root.

Image says E://failed to verify whole file signature.
    Signature Verification failed.
    Installation aborted.

I tried flashing as an update from recovery but fails signature.
Do I need to flash via terminal emulator, if so how.
I don't have twrp installed and don't know if I can I stall it easily.
Much appreciated any more help you can give.

Pick one of these and rename it "recovery.img"; put it in your SD card, get a safety pin, and push and hold the button (usually in the audio out) on the back of your box while booting up.

Rather than going to the normal bootscreen it should go to TWRP. You can use this to flash the ZIP file. It will not install TWRP unless you also flash the .img file itself.

DO NOT FLASH THE IMG FILE UNLESS YOU TEST IT TO OPERATE PERFECTLY. If it does not (e.g. crashes, locks, does not display, only fills quarter of the screen, etc.) by running it from the SD card you only have to use it when flashing. I found one that works well on mine and flashed it.

You might even have to rename it "update.img", or just run it as-is. I forget.
          ____

          EDIT:
I recognize that you will likely not have any of the boxes that are listed. Just Google the box and make sure you pick one with an S905 processor.

Right I got twrp to run off the sd card.
FYI My usb keyboard doesn't work but a usb mouse I have does.
Should I disable the read only option for system files before flashing the supersu zip as I tried without and got no root?

            Edit
Just tried both and still no root.supersu says no binaries installed and I need to root.
See image I got after flashing the supersu zip

Also tried flashing EZ root from both sd card and usb drive.
            I get this error

Applyparsedperms: removexattr of /system/etc/install-recovery.sh to 0 failed: operation not supported on transport endpoint set_meta data: some changes failed.
Updater process ended with ERROR: 7

In the twrp mount options I cannot select cache data or system just the sd card if that makes any sense.

            Thanks for this help btw

            Edit.

Another try, this time I tried flashing the twrp recovery image from running twrp from the sd card.
It failed as I was unable to select a target partition. (No option was available)

No, system needs to be r/w. Do two things:
                1. Download Root Explorer from Google Play
                2. Flash SuperSU beta from the link I provided.

For some reason, it won't fully install unless you run the SuperSU apk. Do that through Root Explorer as it can easily handle zip files.

Also you'll probably want to keep it because it's fantastic.

                  ^Done that.
Still getting unable to mount, cache, system, data after flashing the beta supersu file.

When I run the supersu apk I get there is no SU binary installed.

Think the problem is getting r/w access.
Tried flashing various root zips but getting mount: failed to mount /dev/block/system

Can you double check that you are running TWRP for an S905 box and NOT the S812 or S805?

It will run the other versions but they will not operate properly. I'd try another version of TWRP. I think I picked the one for the Minix for myself, but obviously we have different systems.

That's odd. In TWRP you just need to make sure the system is mounted to flash. You'll want to make sure it isn't confirming checksum as well.

I'll try a few more versions tomorrow
That is the issue not being able to mount system though.
As I said earlier I can only run this twrp from sd card.

I've never had this much trouble flashing roms etc lol.

Thanks for all your help buddy.
                            Nothing worked but now sorted.
Sumvision released a newer firmware with a new version of kodi on and a couple of bug fixes. Still rooted firmware but once installed I could use the eazyroot method which took only a minute.

                            All good and rooted now.

I bought one of these yesterday and really like it - mine came pre-rooted thankfully. The only thing I don't like is the horrible launcher so I've installed Nova but I don't have any home/back/recent apps keys

I'm looking for a rom to flash on it so if anyone has any ideas where I can find one, I'd be grateful.

EDIT - Already have home/back/recent apps keys, all I had to do was swipe up from the bottom of the screen to reveal them
