It works, but as I see also no x265 support on this one, I cannot find any ROM besides Android based 4.4 which can hande 265 coded files (no interest in 4K video)?
        Am i missing anyting?

Try updating the two libraries from post 2871 in this thread to see if you get the fuller range of video playback.

Currently prefer using MX9 firmware on my N9,

Just installed the Zidoo X1 Kodi version and everything works very fine. This is the most important step I've done. Even 4K films are playable.

I wonder whether the full Zidoo firmware could work on my MXQ 3229?

No the firmwares are for different SOC's, so it will never work.

SoC for Zidoo X1 II is the same RK3229, or? But there could be some significant differences on the MB, due to the fact that Zidoo handles some energy savinfs with a specific chip on board...

Earlier you mentioned the X1, which is a different SOC.

Yes the X1 II does have the RK3229.

Zidoo do tend to use different hardware inside their boxes from many others so you may well find a lot of functionality missing, so you would have to try and see how it goes.

                        These all work

fixed the aspect problem, ZDMC 16.1.1 http://apidl.zidoo.tv/zidoo_x6%2Fzdmc-16.1.1.apk

Is this ZDMC the latest version? - I could possible upgrade to it, since I'm quite happy with this implementation.
Re Others: Have you tried it with x265 10bit? Or 4K videos?

I can only recommend this ROM/ZDMC 16.1.1 Kodi implementation (with modified 2 lib files - see before) to anyone using either the original MX9 or - as myself the MXQ 4K 3229 based box.
Everything works quite smoothly, and no problem EVEN with 4K films with average 65Mbit bitrate (which makes sense only on fixed Ethernet)
                              No overheating, no reboots.
This boxes are great value once with correct ROM and drivers!
Really a steal for less than 30 EUR.

I only could wish Youtube 1080p playback, which I do not know why it's not supported. ?
