Just posting to see if anyone else is having issues with this type of box. I have three Android boxes in total. The first, an MXQ PRO 4K lasted about 3 wks before it died and is now a brick. Well, I assume it's died anyway! It kept freezing on the boot screen (mbox logo) and I had to keep doing a factory reset to get it back to life. Said something about the boot partition being read only(?). Factory reset would get it going for a few days but then it refused point blank to move on from the mbox screen even after factory reset then suddenly the screen went a bit fuzzy and it made a horrible squeeling noise. I unplugged and powered back on and now it doesn't do anything. Blue light comes on but box doesn't put out a video signal to TV (tried other PSU's & HDMI cable - same result)
Next box is a MXQ - this is still working and appears to be a good box but I don't have bluetooth on it (to connect a gamepad) so I ordered another MXQ PRO "Quick Play" S905 box from another source with bluetooth enabled. I started setting it up (had Kodi 16.0 on it so I went on Google Play and updated to 16.1) Wanted to install some more apps but then Google play kept closing as I tried to type in the search field. Managed to do it the long way (by using categories in Play instead of search) Was installing Facebook when the box froze on 'installing' Rebooted - then got stuck on mbox logo. Rebooted again - froze on home screen (froze meaning 'non-responsive') Have factory reset it but keeps on freezing randomly (sometimes on mbox logo, sometimes on 'Google TV' logo, other times I'll get in settings and then it freezes) Seems like it's doing exactly the same thing the first box was doing!
So my question is, is anyone else having problems with this type of box (MXQ PRO - I believe they are both S905 boxes?) Am looking for an Android TV kodi box with bluetooth that works but I'm dubious now having had two that both appear to be absolute rubbish!
Cheers,
Andy
