I am really excited to see whether Realtek and Zidoo can produce a media player that can outperform the current devices from Amlogic, Rockchip and Allwinner. In the past Realtek produced some of the finest media player processors and with their background in wireless and wired networking they should be in a strong position to develop some impressive new processors. I would be very interested to test both the NAS and HDMI record capabilities which are two features that are not widely available on most of the current devices. Zidoo is building a good reputation as a manufacturer that provides regular firmware updates and has the necessary software skills to develop a firmware that should be capable of extracting the best possible performance from the latest Realtek RTD1295 hardware.
