How to Load TWRP in Android Toothpick Recovery

    Hi guys

Please can someone explain to me in very simple terms how I can load/install TWRP via the toothpick recovery method on my Mini MXiii box. I currently have Libreelec on my box and have the original android ROM .img file and have been advised to use TWRP........but I cannot see how I install TWRP. Please can someone advise? Thanks

If you're using the .img file from Beelink you don't want TWRP - you want the USB Burning Tool, which is available from the same Beelink page as the firmware (Amlogic Chip Firmware Update Tool). If you're using the TWRP backup from here the instructions are all in the first post of the thread.
Can you link to what you're trying to use?

      Cheers Monthou66

I have a backup rom for my Beelink mini MXiii box and i am currently using Libreelec. I wish to put the rom back on the box so i can use android again but I am getting very confused as to how to do this. I note on the TWRP thread that Abdul has kindly put some stock rom links up. So I assume I download the one for the Mini MX, but what do I do with it then? I know he says the following Install method:

      - Download your image and rename to recovery.img - (does this just mean I rename the rom to recovery.img???)

      - Copy the image to your External SD, and boot while pressing the reset button. On TWRP screen select install->images pick recovery.img

If the above means that I download the rom and rename it recovery.img, I did this then put it on my SD card and then tried to boot via the toothpick recovery method......but nothing happened at all. Am I missing something?

      Cheers

The minimx and minimxiii are not the same box, so no.
There's a thread here in this subforum with a recovery image, a working TWRP and full instructions.
And there's an original ROM on the Beelink site that's installed via the usb burning tool. Either will work.
        It's the TWRP file that's re-named to recovery.img.
Since I'm already replying to you on the libreelec forum (I'm trogggy there, god alone knows why I picked a different user-name for here) it might be best to keep discussion over there.

Cheers mate, what i don't get is if there is already a recovery image, why would we rename the TWRP as recovery.img as well?

Have you used either of these methods to reinstall ROM...if so which is the easiest?

          Appreciate your help.

          regards

Sorry Darren - but I have no idea what you're trying to do.
Can you go back to your last post on the libreelec forum and link to the instructions you're trying to follow and the files you're using?
I responded to your last post over there with a couple of Qs about what you're trying to do.
