MK809iii - Problem with video performance

    Hi *,

i purchased my first android device two weeks ago (Android newbie).

Its an MK809iii model with 1,6GHz, Mali 400 MP chipset (rk3188) and based on the Android 4.2.2 Version.

The Cpu-Z App shows me a frame rate of 48 - 51 fps.

All Apps run stable, but when I stream a video over XBMC (Gotham) or play an 720p video from USB Stick over the mxplayer App, I got micro jerks.

I tried SW / HW and HW+ decoding with different files (the files runs smoothy on my notebook) (mkv, avi e.g) but every time i got the same result.

    Knows anyone help?

Get in the line... the whole community is waiting for the new kernel/firmware which will fix this problem.

I find Gotham to be less stable than XAF.

Most video files play pretty well for me except for 1080P MKV, where there is often significant stutter.

Micro stutter seems something that may never be resolved with these particular sticks.

The newer generation with better GPU's are likely to be the ones to get soon for the best of playback.

        Hi,
        thanks for your helpful feedback...
I will wait for a new firmware and will get in line...

My opinion is, that the hardware are not the bottleneck in these case.
With a frame rate of approximately 50fps is the GPU fast enough to play 1080p.
A friend of mine tells me, that the "Raspberry Pi Model B" (CPU 700MHz and Broadcom VideoCore IV) played all video files very smooth.
Are these two different hardware components comparable?

        Greetings

I have the same device and I was able to fix the video stuttering after reading a thread by Trollgeir who suggested plugging the power cable directly into the usb otg slot instead of the DC slot. I did this and it works great now.

I am having trouble playing Netflix videos though. It's showing a double image with horizontal lines but the video has no problem buffering. Has anyone else experienced problems with Netflix on this or other similar devices?
          Thanks!
