T051 - October Update: First RK3368 True OctaCore Release

Whats the difference between T051_1001_OctaCore.7z and geekbox_octacore_test.7z ???
none of those images reboot after flasging, they freeze on "rebooting..." message. (see the pic) It starts nicely once you reboot with "unplugging the cable" method, but WIFI doesnt work. Any suggestions? Im on i68G but it's identical to Z4 so that shouldnt be the case, since your previous ROM version was working just fine.
Anyone else experiencing this?

The solution for you is probably going to be to mod the firmware specifically for the I68. 

The T051 octacore firmware is based on my firmware made specifically for the Z4. The geekbox firmware is only a mod of an existing geekbox firmware, so the differences are quite large, literally every image (sys/boot/misc/resource etc) are different

Also, the previous rom was working for you but that's with an entirely different method that I'm no longer pursuing.

 On another note, I finally solved the segfaults that caused crashes during benchmarking. Testing further before uploading an update. . .

Sad to say that Wifi doesn't work at all.
I tested other things:
Optimisations seam to work flawlessly. I'm not sure if RK hardware acceleration work in Kodi, but thats something I can work with. Also the DPI adjustment and bottom ribbon buttons (home / app switcher / lack of power button / lack of settings button in top notifications drawer is something I can fix on my own)

P.S. I opened the device just to clear conflicting data on the WIFI/BT chip and it is AP6330 i68 is using

... to find your wifi chip without opening your device install a terminal emulator and type the following commands:

su

dmesg | grep wifi

... also, I'll upload an update soon with wifi fixes and possibly others.

I'll update the firmware tomorrow. It's tricky getting it all right on different hardware that I don't have. The i68 is very different (uses different pcba, etc.) but we're almost there

While it downloads: Is this Kernel / Resources tweak you are doing or does it link with ROM itself?
I mean - Can I flash your Kernel / Resources on top of other 5.0.1 ROM's once we get it going?

I actually meant to say earlier when I posted - please flash the entire image. Wifi changes are in system.img, and all other tweaks are in the other various images.

edit: you can definitely take the separate images and combine them with other roms. I don't think the results would be satisfactory, but you never know.

ADDED 5G WIFI

5G WIFI is working. Im grtting ready to test other things as well like SPDIF sound glitch and RK hardware acceleration.
Do you need any other tests / logs of anything out of it?

P.S. Did you intentionally kill the bottom status-bar Home and AppSwitcher buttons? I have them on remote so no problem for me - just curious.
P.P.S. I'll stick to your kernel / rom etc.. image combination. Just wanted to know if this wifi fix & kernel tweak set is transferable to other roms or not. Now I know
