I loved it to be honest. Just had a faulty DC Jack which would go off after 2 hours of typing.

In fact, the greatest thing your rom gives me bob : I can now play Another World on my Arnova! That's priceless...
If you too had an amiga 500 or an atari 520 st, or even an EGA pc and loved this game made by 1 man, which was clearly THE game of these years, and have a few bucks to spend, buy it and it will make you happy

Ok, maybe you can say I'm not completely objective, as the guy who made it is a french man : Eric Chahi. I don't know, but that game really is a peace of art. And, at the time it was first published, I didn't have money to buy it, and I simply didn't buy games. I didn't have money and I had the opportunity to copy diskettes easily, so I did it. And I don't feel bad about it, but now I can afford it and I am glad to play it on my tab and to give hime a few bucks

By the way, if you like this man's work, he has developped another kicking ass game for PCs not so long ago : "From Dust".
Try it. It is really awesome. I hope we can have it on tabs someday, but it seems to require too much power for our tabs now.

Ah, you had an amiga 1200 too?
That was a great computer. I bought one, also. My first amiga. I got a A500 later from a friend that threw it to the bin. Another of the greatest games at that time was moonstone. If you played it, you remember it.

I bet you didn't have a hard drive on yours, inside of it, and a graphics card in the underneath, mine rocked, hooked up to the internet and everything

Aha! I had a hard drive in my A1200. In fact I did have to saw the plastic cover inside the A1200 to make the HD fit inside
And it was the most enjoyable computer i had And the biggest deception when after months and months we learnt that no cdrom drive was going to be released for the A1200. I know you still cry for it. I hear your A1200 owner wound that nothing can heal...

Ah yes Petrus but I had a 3.5 inch hard drive with an Ide cable threaded out of the side, something like a 500Mb hehe, I loved it. That was exciting times for me. I want it back.
Take a look at this Petrus, they have a 2012 model but think it is a windows machine

AAAAAh, what sweet memories. At that times PC games were jokes (then came wolfenstein3d and 486 PCs became cool).
At that time I was learning 68000 assembler, as this seemed the way to rule the world, or at least AMOS if you only wanted to make quick demos

Time has passed, but there still are demo contests. Incredible what you can do nowadays with only 64k of code : http://awards.scene.org/

Same here, 68000 was a blast to program. I loved the lower instruction set but many adressing modes! I really felt it was a beter processor than the Intel at the time. I mean banked memory management to be backwards caompatible I hated that on the Intel procs.

Wow, if I had the $$ I would buy one of those 64's or the Vic Slim. What a great idea

                        or try this : http://fr.appbrain.com/app/uae4droid/org.ab.uae

I tried. It's cool, and it's weird to think that our phones can handle more than an A1200 in terms of power

But it is not as user friendly as on a pc emulator.

I still have it, with my monochrome (green) monitor. I think nowody outside europe knows it, but it was really a great "cheap" computer. I learlt basic on it ("The prompt told 'Locomotive basic" if you recall) and it took at least 20 mins to load a basic game.

Still a great piece of early computer. And it made me learn a lot of stuff
