    Geekbuying return policy ?

    So I'm considering sending back my brand new Tronsmart T428 to geekbuying as to me we were cheated : I'm fine with slight bugs, some random reboots, etc. as I get that this is not a Samsung device...but no decent 1080p decoding what so ever is a major flaw and, dare I say, false advertising !

    I get that this is not geekbuying's direct fault but still they sell the unit.

    Is there any chance they would accept it ?

    I don't think so. They are part of chinese companies selling scrap and are happy you have been dupe. Considering cost of sending back they are sure will not!

        You will have better luck just putting it on **** or craigslist. I remember a thread from a few weeks back where geekbuying was actually asking US (the consumers) which type of things they should be testing for with these sticks. This indicates that geekbuying has no checklist of their own that they go through before deciding if a device is worthy of being sold or not. Instead they sell these types of devices with misleading advertising leading users to believe that the device is something other then what it truly is. With all that being said, I still think the community has a chance of saving this device, the recently released 2.0 sdk solves the video issues, but tronsmart has not released a rom making use of it. We should all send geekbuying PM's telling them to push tronsmart to release an updated rom, or at least provide us with an email for a rep that we can get in contact with ourselves.

          Is there any tablet, PC Stick and or mini pc worth buying? And if so, will anyone start that thread?

            Hopefully the neo x7 will have all the kinks work out when it launches in the next week or so. Minix usually doesn't disappoint, and tronsmart appears to be a page behind with the new sdk. So if I were going to make a purchase soon I would wait until the x7 is released.

              It does not need extensive testing when the main reason of TV-BOX is playing video and that tronsmart can't!

                There are different file formats, different file sizes, different resolutions, bitrates etc. So testing video isn't as easy as it seems, but for geekbuying to say that they are not aware of that on their own is pretty comical. Most of the for sale pages for the android devices say "weve tested video and it works great"... YAAAAAAA RIGHTTTTTTTT

                  Sorry to hear your problem, and i just saw your post, and come to reply.

                  The 1080P decoding? what do you mean for that? because now t428 already have the real 1080p output firmware.

                  but for hardware decoding. we don't tell our customers it can do that, because rockchip refuse to release the source code, so hardware decoding on rockchip device is impossible now. but you can use the external player to do the software decoding.

                  Also if you really don't like this products, it's ok to return, you can contact our customer service to get things solved.

                    We dont need the source code to fix video............. since you advertise yourselves as having direct communication with tronsmart why dont you just ask them for us if they plan on ever releasing a new rom based on the rockhip 2.0 sdk. Its the least you could do considering how much you have ripped us all off.

                        maybe you dont see thousand of post about 1080p/720p video stuttering, or about overheating and reboot after 10mn of video playing... mk908 and t428 doesnt support HD video.

                          I agree with all that's being said I mean at this point I miss my MX1 that worked perfect. This t428 has so many issues even if Tronsmart cared to fix one at a time to show some effort but none has been made or any word from them if they will.

                          Should we start a complaint thread showing how many users demand some sort of action?

                            I agree with everyones complains.. This should have been listed clearly. Getting the runaround also with wait for this update and that from geekbuying. Yeah they told me a few times it would be fixed and its now 2 months. So they had fun ripping everyone off and now even lowered the price of the t428 by 20 bucks.
                            I wonder why..... And return them overseas would cost you about 1/3 the price . Yeah it was like 20 dollars or so and I said forget it and will never ever buy tronsmart again. What a joke and how many people are getting screwed on **** and other sites that sell these so called rockchip products. GARBAGE.

                            What really gets me is the customer reviews ...You know thats manipulation of information. Not once adressing the real issues and just usually work arounds from other complains..

                            Oh I love my tronsmart and add another power adapter and it will work better, or this hack or that trick.
                            OBVIOUS. Pefect reviews on this site..... geekbuying ashame of yourself and dont think I know the truth as you have not listed my honest review that addresses most of these things... Why isnt it listed?

                              I don't know how geekbuying can keep talking for these backyard building companies.
                              Returns , Online Help , Emails two weeks for a reply. The girls are replying as fast as possible.Why are you getting so many emails in the first place?? ( Feel Sorry for the Girls)

                              You would be far better off buying from Odroid , Arduino and the like as these boards are build from Quality components. Have Good support and they don't bullshit to you what these companies state about their product what you get..

                              Just type Android Boards in google..
