VONTAR Z5 (MECOOL BB2 / YOKATV KB2) - WiFi Issues
Id' be interested to know if anyone has had WiFi failure issues on these devices (They're all identical as far as I can tell, with some cosmetic changes). They seem to run fairly hot, and after two weeks the box stopped recognising the WiFi device, even a factory reset didn't bring it back. Checking the dmesg log shows message about failure to power on device after three attempts - so I'm going to *assume* hardware failure here, unless anyone with better Linux knowledge than my self can suggest other things to check!Tags: None

I have a YokaTV (32GB Storage variant) of this Device, and Both the WiFi, and the Bluetooth have never worked!
I have requested an RMA with Deal Extreme, but have yet to hear anything back. It's been close to a week now.
I think I might have to flog this hunk 'o crap on FleaBay, and cut my losses. Even for all its faults, I have to say that the AFTV2 manages to wipe the floor with it. And although it's sold as being 4k, it's not really. But, at least it works.
If anything this taught me not to cut corners, and just patiently save up for a ShieldTV.
But, yeah I would advise those interested in any Amlogic S912 SoC at this point to weigh their options carefully at the moment. Perhaps this will hopefully get better by next summer (Northern Hemisphere). But, for now it's buyer be ware.
