Wow this is exactly what I have been looking for after trying so many! I currently have the attached the same as your I'm almost certain. The reason for my first flash was audio video sync issues in kodi. Can you confirm if this will take care of this? My current firmware has blocked wifi and I have lost some ram so would love to get the full ram and the led and wifi fixed. My box must be a Chinese fake as the original firmware has always had the blue light on continuously

Im at the point where I am going to buy a better box if this doesn't sort the a/v sync issues.

a huge thanks for finding this though I'm going to try it out now I have a full kodi and skin back up taken! Fingers crossed.

Quick question is the firmware for USB flash or SD?

      JP,

You and I have the exact same board and remote. The 2 links I posted will you get your wifi working. However, they do not resolve the RAM issue nor the LED. I just tried Goran's .img file and I'm now stuck at the MXQ logo. Going to try again.

Goran--can you detail the process with loading the new IMG file so that I'm not missing anything?

I have not managed to get it on mine yet it seems that the image I have on there has blocked the usb from working with the usb burner. Looks like I may have try and flash it with different firmware to get the ports working then try the new firmware on top.

I have not had much luck with this box as mentioned with AV sync issues etc. Hoping to get this sorted once and for all.

Any tips etc would be great to hear

Jaminparker I don't know about AV issues in Kodi because I'm not using it. But somewhere I found that it is because of amcodec that has bugs. Wifi and LED are working in this ROM. This is IMG firmware and procedure for flashing is as below.

@clnupman First I tried to flash IMG files with USB Burning Tool v2.0.7.2_build2_12 but I had problem that firmware upload was always stuck at 94%, then I downloaded older v2.0.5.15_build8 and all went fine. Maybe that is the problem.

Probably you are doing the same:
          1. start USB burning tool and load the image
          2. check all checkboxes and select Erase all
          3. disconnect power adapter and connect male to male cable into USB4
          4. push and hold reset button inside AV jack
          5. put cable into PC's USB and let go reset button, approx. 3-5sec after connecting cable
          6. click start and wait for process to finish

I also had device stuck at first boot logo, that is the reason I came to this forum, but (auto-magically) it came to life after flashing your ROM, but after that I had no problem flashing my ROM for at least 5 times because I'm trying some modifications.

GoranNSW I reflashed with a recovery SD and I have the USB connectivity back, It is currently flashing using USB Burning tool so I will let you know how i get on!

I have tried all the usual tricks with disabling hardware acceleration etc on kodi but I have round that some firmware brings the AV back in sync much better than others leading me to think it may be the Firmware etc.

Are you able to confirm if your board and remote is the same as the mine the one i posted earlier?

Software decoding is really slow and in my opinion unusable. Amcodec is integrated into ROM and you can have different version in different ROMs. It is possible to add codec into android but that is very complex.

Remote I have on this device (let's name it 1. device) is on the first picture, and remote for other device is on the second (2,). None of them is the same as yours. I have seen remote same as yours on other device that is not mine an it's keymap is almost the same as 2, device's remote. But remote for 1. device has completely different keymap eg. right_arrow is number 5 etc... You can try this ROM but be careful and don't do it if you don't have backup of your ROM.

I have flashed with the new rom successful and so far so good. The remote works with no issues the led turns off when power button is pressed and the wifi is active too. The Ram is not fully detected but I guess that is the best I will get.

With regards to to kodi there are still AV sync issues but it is better with the hardware acceleration on and adjusting the audio offset.

So far though this is the best Rom For this board that I have tried. I think it may be time to retire the box though as I'm still not happy with the slowness. Etc

im thinking of getting this http://www.gearbest.com/tv-box-mini-...&lkid=10372689. Any thoughts on it ?

                  Thanks Goran,

Never thought that the version of the burning tool was the difference maker. I'll downgrade and give it a try. Really wanna give OpenElec and LibreElec a try as they don't eat up as many resources as the Android based ROMs

Jaminparker You will never have 100% of the RAM on android because part of it is reserved for system/hardware. I am not happy with it either but I'm forced to use it for app testing. Device you want to buy looks very promising and is far better than this, just try to find some reviews of how it performs in real life.

clnupman You are welcome, I found out that in a hard way, but I was perssistent and lucky enough to try lower version.

Jaminparker , that RAM issue is the very reason I want to get OpenElec and LibreElec a try...."just enough OS to run Kodi"

Hi Goran, you could post a backup via twrp of the rom already installed on the mxq s805 v2.0 20160811, since I can not install via usb, only by the sd card.

Hi, I have what looks like the same box as in post 16, S805Q V2. but with KOT49H 20161114. I have tried a few twrp's to back up my firmware but cannot find one, the box just boots up into the android recovery. Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. I'm trying to back up my system firmware ( kot49h 20161114 because it's very slow & juddery ) so that I can try another rom. I have tried twrp 2.8.7.0 & a couple of others but it just boots into the android recovery & not twrp. I do not want to try putting an earlier rom on in case I brick it with no way back.
