Have I bricked my new MK809iv in 5 min?

    Hi all,
after a lot of reading I have not found a solution to my problem... I have received (yesterday!) a new MK809iv with Android 4.4 and, out of the box, I could not get it to turn on WIfi of Bluetooth. It would say turning wifi on and then it would revert back to the "wifi OFF" state. Same with BT. A little after it froze so I pulled the plug to restart and it started cycling between the initial "fixed" ANDROID message and the one with the one where the letters have this sort of reflection animation (while booting), so I pressed the reset button to see if that could fix it but now it will not boot at all, it just stays in the animated ANDROID letters for ever... What is wrong with this thing??? Not having wifi and BT I'm guessing the wrong firmware was used? If so, can it still be saved? What ROM should I use? The device is this one:

I really appreciate any input, THANKS!!!

I can see nobody has any input... Just an update: I have tried installing a new firmware, reportedly good for this device and with BT WIfi but I cannot even get past the first step of connecting the thing to the computer... I followed the instructions of pushing the reset button but nothing happens and I cannot see any new device on the computer, so I cannot even install the drivers for it. I mean, the thing physically works, the red led is on but it just stays on the android boot screen forever...
I actually managed to get it be recognized as an unknown device WHILE I'm pressing the reset button, but it just disappears again... And I don't get that cheery ta-ta sound but a "something's not ok" flat ta-ta-ta...

Any help? I was hoping to solve the problem by flashing a new ROM, but I can't even install the drivers on the computer... Is this really doomed to the recycle bin?
