Pipo M9 3G - installing apps in external sd card

Greetings. I'll try to keep this short.
I'm new to the android scene and I just bought a Pipo M9 3G + class 10 sd card. I cannot install any apps in my external card and even if I store media (music/videos) there I have to transfer the files to the nand memory for the apps to read them.
Can you please tell me how to use the external sd card as additional internal memory? I don't even need to swap internal memory with the sd card, just to be able to use it as additional memory. Is this possible at all?
I know that the vold.fstab editing does not work with pipo m9.
Please help me as I am way in over my head.
My device is on 4.2.2 stock rom and it has no root, which is why I haven't tried any of the acclaimed RileyRoms. Try as I might, I just can't install the appropriate drivers in my pc.
    Thanks a bunch.

You don't need to be rooted to flash a RileyROM. That is how you can root.

You have choices on how big you want your app space to be, so you don't have to use your SD card for apps.

There ARE apps that will allow you to do this if you need to, though.

I don't use them, but others here have...I'll leave any suggestions to the readers.

Thanks for the reply, Randy. So, assuming I get to flash to RileyRom 1.7, how do I choose the size of the app space? If I leave it at 2GB, can I then use one of those afore-mentioned apps to turn external sd into internal memory? Otherwise it feels like the 32GB card is a waste... Also, I assume such apps require root, right? Sorry for all the questions, but I am really just getting started at this...
