I just wanted to make a general observation/remarks regarding Windows 8.
I have read in this forum remarks concerning problems with Windows 8 and that is also my experience.
Since recieving my mk809II i have used my main pc, running Windows 8 x64, for flashing and that went well until recent.
My stick is now only recognized using the method described by Bob; http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...ome-USB-ports!
Also unbricking was not possible on Windows 8, had to take my sons Windows 7 laptop for that.
I read post http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...D-on-the-MK808
As i have a MK809II i had to short pin 5&6 but no Mask ROM for me, but i was able to flash the original firmware back and it now works again. http://www.mk809.com/cs102II/en/Download.html
So take this information as is. These are my experiences and can differ from others.
Things that are absolutely essential are a good, read stable, 5v 2a powersupply and good quality cables. So in general that means to throw away the supplied hardware that came with the stick.
ps. I still have problems with my main USB port feel free to take a look at post http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...ort-on-MK809II
