    Pipo M9 Adhoc WiFi Support

    Hi,
Has anyone had any experience with connecting the Pipo M9 to adhoc WiFi? I'm trying to use my old Windows Mobile phone as a wireless access point but the SSID does not show up on the tablet. My Win7 netbook can see and connect to it just fine.

After further reading I discover that it's by design than Android, at least on the latest versions, do not support connecting an adhoc WiFi network and it would require replacing wpa_supplicant with one that does. However, the challenge lies in finding a compatible wpa_supplicant for our tablet. So, if you guys/gals have any idea on how to solve this, please reply. Thanks.

I'm running the SDK 2.0 version of my M8 Pro ROM which is pretty much the same as the M9 and I can connect to my iPhone 4s with no problem, using it as a mobile hotspot.

This must be a configuration problem with your phone...I guess, because adhoc is working fine.

I'm also using SDK 2.0 based firmware on the M9. I don't think it's a configuration problem with the phone since Win7 can happily detect and connect to it just fine. It just does not show up on the tablet WiFi list.

However, most, if not all users experiencing this issue are either trying to use a Windows Mobile phone or a Symbian based phone, never an iPhone, so maybe the problem does not exist in the iPhone in the first place. Even Nexus 7 users are complaining that it doesn't support connecting to an adhoc WiFi network, which led me to believe that this is an issue with Android.

Anyway, still looking for a solution, specifically on how to connect the M9 to a WM phone acting as a WiFi hotspot.
