    XBMC with hardware accel. on the CX-919... and is hdmi passthrough a possibility or just a pipe dream?

    just curious if any of the gotham libstagefreight XBMC builds are working with HW accel on this RK3188 based stick? and secondly, my understanding is that hdmi passthrough does not work on any RK3066 or 3188 based stick, regardless of the rom used. is this something that you guys think will work at some point? or are we stuck in stereo land .... of course I'm asking this because I have a 919 on the way and just want to see what the deal is at this point. I watched somecooltech's review (ahhhhhhh yeeaaaaa!) and while it looks solid, he didn't delve into XBMC at all. thanks!

        I would just like to know if anyone has gotten any version of XBMC to work with the CX-919? I can't get any of them to work. That includes XBMCAndroid (the MX version). I have installed many versions and I have yet to actually launch XBMC. I get through the install, but it always "stops unexpectedly". I am on finless 1.4 4.1 ROM. I haven't tried the custom kernel yet though.

        Thanks

              that's great to hear. have you tested a lot of MKV content? reason i'm asking is because I tested out a friends minix G4 with a bunch of 720p MKVs and half played great, and half were very choppy. this was on a local drive to eliminate any network issue.

                i dont have 1080p TV, only use 720p avi, flv and others mkv with little compression i think, all my videos are into a NAS and played via wifi ....
                I use mx pro to play mkv and avi, but original player from xbmc works ok too, the only thing is that xbmc doesnt play in full screen, like mx pro

                sorry, i cant help you!

                  Cx-919 using Finless 1.4 JB 4.1.1 and Strauzo Kernel for Mk908.

                  Can confirm that the latest (july14th) build of XBMC Android with libstagefright works with my Cx-919.

                  Happily watching 720p HD TV streams with this now.

                    Quick update ::

                    It does seem to struggle with 1080p MKV files.. sometimes not rendering the image at all and only sound, but any encode at around 4mbps seems to work well. 720p MKV and MP4s work as you would expect, with the occasional stuttering when it comes to certain 1080p MP4 files I have here.. again due to bitrate of the encode.

                    I would still use the likes of BubbleUPNP and MxPlayer to watch 1080p files through my Cx-919.

                        I dont think that just adding in the 'playercorefactory.xml' would work. I beleive that the source has to be modified slightly to allow extenal players still.

                          Very good to hear. Can't wait to get mine. Forgive my ignorance but how does one load the kernel separately from the rom? If I flash Finless what rom is being loaded?
