Kernel compiling with CPU Overclock and GPU Overclock T428

What deconfig are you guys using, where are the CPU overclocking setting in anykernel(list any other program you might be using), and how would I go about adding GPU support for Overclocking? Not worried about overheating just need the info. Thanks.

Also found this guide for CPU overclocking.

Sam321 shared in his post about oc kernel for mk802IV the file that is needed to overclock cpu and ram and it works well, gpu speed can't be increased in this way cause is limited in other file, i saw in cpufrec.c min and max gpu speed, but change those values didn't work for me. There is something more in other file.

Unfortunately that CPU O/C guide isn't very applicable to rockchips. But as Leolas mentioned, there's some code that can be found in the kernel source for CPU/RAM O/C in arch/arm/mach-rk3188/board-rk3188-box.c and cpufreq.c
while GPU O/C still needs to be worked on.
Shouldn't be too hard to isolate the GPU O/C stuff once I've finished getting the exFAT support added to my own kernel tests.

I can't find references about "secured" oc values for Mali mp4, so pay attention when you try to overclock it.

AW: Kernel compiling with CPU Overclock and GPU Overclock T428

          Hello Leolas,

Sam has overclock the Ram not the GPU to get better GPU values.
This works on mk802IV. May this is an option ?

Is there a way to mount/decompile overclocked kernel (i.e. 1.9ghz ram 1000mhz kernel.img) to get the CPU/RAM O/C in arch/arm/mach-rk3188/board-rk3188-box.c and cpufreq.c files/values to rebuild the kernel overclocked with the correct drivers/modules i.e. working WiFi & Bluetooth (excuse my terminology if I miss worded this) ? Or does someone have these values they can post?

Been meaning to message you Sam and thank you for your work on unlocking some of the overclocking already. Thanks

@Toxic_Dragon .. there's no need. Sam posted the file, and there's a few unofficial kernel sources already being worked on that have integrated Sam's code. Go check out the kernel development thread for some of the sources http://www.freaktab.com/forumdisplay...el-Development
I'd add my github to the list, but I'm still working the kinks out of getting exFAT support added properly and I haven't had a chance to test some of the latest changes I'd made to the kernel yet.

Yes neomode, I know and it is working really well I tested it and only with ram oc there is good tesults, so thanks again to sam321 for share his code, but we dont have gpu overclock yet, at least I can't get it work, and I dont know if is it possible.

It is possible to overclock the gpu. I started to work on changing the code to allow it, but I got sidetracked by an offer on a hp nas, so I have been sorting that out for the last few days. There is quite a lot of code changes to be made to make it possible. So far I know these files need modifying board-rk3188-box.c cpufreq.c dvfs.c clock_data.c but there may be others

How far are you overclocking? I left stock 1.6 GHZ CPU with performance governor and it overheated. Could imagine going much higher.

I use 1800 cpu and 720 ram in my daily use, it feels cooler than stock kernel in imito qx1.
I use ondemand governor and noop io sheuler, it performs very good and not do overheated. If you run so hot maybe a case mod can help

I'll give that a try but with stock values as I'm just running kernel that congress with nexus 428 Rom. Maybe if I set minimum cpu speed top like 800 it will be more responsive. Thanks for helping out !
