Unable to install apps

    Unable to install apps

    After upgrading to finless's latest ROM for my 10G2 I am still unable to install some apps. The only thing they have in common is that I am having to get the APKs from other than the market as it says they are not compatible with my 10G2. Even curioser is that they are listed as compatible with my 10G2 before I rooted it.

    Trying to install them gets me an error:

    The APK runs, asks me to install and then ends with "Application not installed".

    Any one got any suggestions? If you need logs tell me what and how to get them and I will do my best.

    I doubt it's my ROM. What determines compatability is in build.prop called ro.fingerprint. I have not changed that on any of my ROMs.

    Were you able to install these before on the 10 G2?

    FYI, google has been messing around and if your getting not compatible in google play store, you may need to clear out cache or reflash. My new google files fix that by the way which will be in my 1.5 ROM.

      maybe its your copy of apps

      try getting another copy of the app..i got the same issue and tried geting another one from another source and it worked.

        Doubt it's my copy of the APKs as they were provided to me by damo from this forum.

        Never actually got round to installing them on a previous ROM, the only ROM they are showing as valid for is the very first rooted ROM I tried back in November.

        As can be seen the first app says not compatible but I have successfully installed it, the second one is failing.



        Will try clearing the Play Store cache and see what happens.

              Hang on, your not the only one having this problem now. I think I have resolved it. It's the google play upgrade thats doing it and it is because of other market support files left over.

              I am going to see if I can get a patch kit out this afternoon to patch my 1.4 ROMs. By the way any of my roms that got upgraded to gplay would also have this problem now.

              Stay tuned.

                Cheers Bob, I think it's that upgrade that prompted my move to the 1.4 ROM. I discovered that my Google account had been removed, and so had all my calendar and contacts, but also that I couldn't add one back in.

                  Well bad news after testing a friends tablet with the same exact problem. I can PATCH the market but it requires a full factory reset.

                  So I will release a patch kit but you will need to backup with titanium and then a restore.

                    Having used Titanium to upgrade to 1.4 I know just how painless that bit is.

                        Hi Bob, done the fix and the reinstall of all my stuff and still can't install the two apps that prompted me to start this thread.

                        Due a phone upgrade shortly and probably going Android then, so will wait for that.

                          battery issue

                          After installing this app solver, my Arnova 10 G2, Android 2.3.1 Kernel 2.3.32.27 doesn't charge the battery. Any idea??

                              Yes a ROM is not going to stop the thing from charging. So his charger broke or VERY COMMON PROBLEM, he proke the jack inside the tablet.
