Been reading the forum for the past few weeks learning as much as I can. Awesome information so far, thanks!
[Device Specs: RK3066, 1gb RAM, 8GB, RTL 8723BS for wifi and bluetooth.]
I wanted to ask/discuss about this specific device as I've had an interesting time learning with it. The "MK808B (htc-t011-v4)." It was sold to me via Amazon as a Tizzy-Bac MK808B (hence the title). I have attempted flashing a few of the Finless ROMs under the MK808B section but have proven unsuccessful. Does anyone else have this device as well? Do you have a preferred firmware or ROM?
I am somewhat new to Android (been a BlackBerry user for a long time, used to tinker with that operating system in some capacity but never in the same as seen with Android), so am just trying to find what works best for stability as well as quality streaming.
Attempted to flash a Finless ROM but have failed and ended up having to short the PINs to get into Mask ROM mode.
After bricking (and not being knowledgeable enough to back up at the time, d'oh!) searched high and low for firmware for it and have (finally...) successfully found some:
T005_T011_public_root_8723_20141029_V4.4.img (KitKat) [I believe this is the initial firmware for it - SmartBox boot animation] - https://mega.co.nz/#!lNQGEDjC!5AWRdP...vqfLhvt6Qzo0jk
T005_public_8723_20141230_V1.0.img (JellyBean) [R-Box boot animation] - http://www.freaktab.com/forum/tv-pla...rtl8723bs-wifi
Both seem to be working fine aside from some minor issues:
KitKat firmware - lag/off sync in some streaming apps (notably Showbox), could only install TWRP after first boot had been completed, think I need to sort out how to prepare that in the firmware/ROM.
JellyBean firmware - have actually just installed this one and am testing it out. I know its a "downgrade" but after facing some issues with the KitKat firmware I figured this might be more stable.
I had been attempting to "debloat" and add some TV streaming apps to the KitKat firmware using RK3xxx_firmware_tools_5.99.07.00 but have run into some issues. (Will post to that correct thread in that regard

Thanks for reading and look forward to some productive discussion!
(Apologies if this is a duplicate or already discussed, I've been reading the forums and saw minimal info about this specific device)
Additionally I hope to attempt to try ROMs with similar SoCs.
I see a few topics in that regard but must research some more:
