    W(ifi)TF continued

This is a continuation and cleaned up thread from the first W(ifi)TF thread… I am one of the ever-growing unlucky few who have one of the Realtek chipsets for the Wi-Fi. I have an OTT box MXQ PRO 4k and I updated with stock he from vendor GeeksBuying. After doing so wifi was busted. I, like may others, have flashed everything under the sun without any positive results. I posed pics of my board, and in other posts I have links to videos showing an error where my device will lock up and Buzz from the TV speakers with white vertical lin8es which seemed to happen on a driver call…

I have been digging and found some things…
Searched wifi and wlan0 in ES Explorer with root. Found:
MY wifi device had no mac address..
Found file wlan_mac in /cache that was blank
I found nothing but errors in libwifi-service
I am currently booted to NexRom for NexMSQ and wend snooping in system and found what I think the issue is.. There is only a broadcom driver loading on the device. Please see pics.

Question… does any dev on here have access to the drivers for this? Could they just be transferred from usb in a root environment to overwrite the bcom drivers? I am thinking that these devices with RT wifi, especially in tje USA, will only pop up more. So lets nip it now so that we can help others….

    Hello Mate,

Every Networking Device need a MAC Adress to Work.
Only possible i can see now that you have a different MAC Adress on every Boot.
Did you look in your Router and see what MAC Adress you get ?

Well i am not connected to the router via wifi because it doesn't work. So I cannot check… plus we switched to Cox Internet with an Arris routr and they didnt leave us with admin creds and they are not on the router. So I am cracking it as we speak…
I am thinking during one of my day-turned to night- turned to day again- turned to night again - days that I might have ticked the force erase all… thats the only thing I can think of to cause this…. The buzzing is something different entirely. 0.o
Ethernet works but what's the point of cutting the cord if there is still a cord?

I use force erase all every time I flash an AML box, so I would not think it would be your issue.

Check this for default Arris p/w.

BTW Providing your ISP has not preconfigured the router to settings specific to Cox, seems you could just reset the router and create your credentials.
Reseting the router is done so at the user's risk.
But I would think worst case you l'll have to call Cox.
