    Something For Beelink X2 Owners...

Something for the X2, from CNX... "RetrOrangePi 3.0 Retro Gaming & Media Center Firmware Released for Orange Pi H3 Boards and Beelink X2 TV Box"

RetrOrangePi is a Linux distribution based on armbian transforming Allwinner H3 boards – mostly Orange Pi boards, but also Banana Pi M2+ and NanoPi boards – into entertainment centers to play retro games, and watch/listen media files (videos/music) using Kodi.

    Beelink X2 also supported.

Hello kevin1341, Winning an X2 and finding some fun looking F/W options before it arrives, now that is serendipity.
      Congratulations on the win.
Have fun and keep us posted on the combination of X2 and the Retro.
      Cheers.

The X2 image is almost exactly the same as the orange pi PC and One image. I thought the only difference might be that the Beelink X2 image had wifi support but It didn't pick up any wifi for me.

It's fun to play with but seems missing a lot of options and documentation, there doesn't seem to be any instructions for this RetrOrange Pi 3.0. I'm grateful for their work but I really hope they add the options to make ROMS actually playable. My 360 controller is almost impossible to configure ( at the "press LB trigger" it skips the next few buttons because it's so touchy). But the really big issue is games play full screen and the aspect is stretched way off. I don't see any options anywhere to fix this. Try playing MAME Pac Man, a vertical orientation game stretched way out to 16:9. NES and SNES 4:3 games look bad enough...

Anyway, glad they finally released it, hope they keep improving on it. And if anyone know how to fix the aspect, please let me know.

^ Make sure you format your SD card with "SDFormatter v4.0" and write the image with "win32diskimager". In SD Formatter use OPTION / FORMAT SIZE ADJUSTMENT = "ON". Also "MiniTool Partition Wizard" is useful if you can't get a full format on a messed up card.

Looks like the X2 should boot any OS image for Opi PC or "H3" on SD card.

Thanks for your answer. Formetted with SD Formatter, but no changes, system freeze on boot. These are sd card partitions after win32diskimager wrote img file.

Try download the orange pi pc image and burn to sd card.

Also, there's a program called "Etcher" you could try writing the image file with instead of Win32diskimager and also try a full SD format instead of a "quick" format. Lastly, try a different SD card. You need at least a Class 6, 8GB card. Both the Opi PC and Beelink X2 images are working for me.
