Rikomagic MK 802 IV S

Hi,

I recently bought a Rikomagic MK 802 IV S in Germany.
When I tried to upgrade to the latest firmware I realized that the versions offered on www.rikomagic.com are not compatible and I had to pick the versions from www.rikomagic.de.

The problem I have is that the stick gets extremely hot and I assume that is also the reason for regular reboots.
As I understood the hardware for most of the sticks is the same, please correct me if I am wrong. Thus, I tried a few other CRoms to see whether they could help my problem, but unfortunately the device did not boot at all. From the outside the stick looks like the Tronsmart MK 908.

Does anyone know whether there is a compatible CRom for this stick? Could I have done anything wrong while flashing, though I could flash the other Roms?

I would like to keep the stick, but the reboots after about 15 mins and the overheating which I assume are connected rather make me return the stick.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

thank you very much for your reply.

Apparently I made a mistake flashing the CRoms.
I am currently trying Finles 1.5 CRom for the MK908 and so far it works fine. No reboots, no overheating.
Seems like I do not have to return the stick.

Only the RKRemote does not work for me.

I will try a few others and see what works best for me.

Yes this work´s you know why ?
Right now it seems like they change the Wifi and Bluetooth Hardware to the AP63xx
Like in the Model you flash.
This is the reason why it Works.
Nobody told me that.

Right now I am a little angry they doing this !
Will contact my China Man and tell him that.

Thank you, that is good to know.

Watching some lower quality streams worked fine for a couple of hours, but HD is not possible. After a couple of minutes the device just overheats.

I guess I will return mine, maybe I can find an alternative.

It is funny how cheaper Amlogic AML8726-M3 (that is single core, if i am not mistaken) can run HD videos without any stuttering... Oh well, we'll see if Rockchip will be able to release fix for rk3188 HD vid stuttering.

Also i've read in some other topic that when the device is powered through OTG instead of the DC port, the HD stuttering goes away - i'll check that out in a minute
