    guys, thanks for your feedback.

I am confused, and some people said the wifi improved, some said not.

is there any difference in the wireless router settings?

If i connect it to my Samsung Television's Wifi Hotspot, it works better, but it gives me very low performance if i connect it to my router (Tilgin Fiber Modem) Before this firmware, it keep disconnects sometimes, now its not disconnects but slows down.

I think most important point is video play. Because almost everyone bought it to watch movies. Last night i have tried to watch a 1080p movie from it, but sadly i have bored of stutters and watched it from my TV's internal video player...

Has anyone tried Emit for streaming video? This app does the encoding on your host and streams the compressed video to your device. Works really well on phone and tablet but continuously buffers on the mk908 .YouTube the same. My wifi router is right next to the device.

          conclusion

after a few days of testing varios configurations i came to the conclusion it is a heat disipation problem. i got the device stable with thw 720 kernel and video output set on 720, no 1080 upscaling. to avoid the heat issue i removedd the case ant it seats naked on the tv stand. true this ade the wifi signal go to to 50%but youtubbe and 720p movies over wifi are playeble with the floating pixel app running to avoid framing.'
so i will updatthis after i mode it with a way biger heasink and let you know.

Is STock Rom Rooted or UnRooted?

looking for an Unrooted ROM to flash to my MK908. To use certain company applications I can't have a rooted device and SuperSU Hiding of root doesn't work. They look to deep into things and can tell that the ROM has root access.

Looking to flash a rom that does not have Root access from the start. Any ideas?

Hey Superbaby, give the guy a break. If you feel it is such a waste of time, go find new firmware somewhere else. I have yet to actually test my new mk908, but I will be jumping in as soon as a few more things hit the door. For the record, I have been running two HP touchpads since they were dropped and have been running droid as soon as it was released. One is running JB and the other is still ICS. I appreciate the devs work even when it misses the mark or still lacks in areas.

Now maybe because I'm already mad, it seems the video is still a bit jittering even with the pixel drawing app running!

Why would anyone want to release such a firmware???

Thought I'd just chip in quickly. I've attempted to test this new firmware however, whilst it appears to flash successfully, when the device reboots I'm greeted with just a black screen. The blue light is there so it is powering up ok however it doesn't appear to actually boot. Or perhaps it does but I have no video output so cannot confirm this.

Should note I originally tried to flash as a restore (on the rockchip tool) from the Finless Rom 1.5 that it was previously on. When this didn't work I flashed it back to the original stock rom (from Tronsmart website) and attempted again as both an upgrade and restore. Each time the flash was successful but I'm still left with a black screen.

Any ideas appreciated, I'd like to give this a go and test for any improvement in HD video playback. Back to the Finless rom in the meantime !

                Cheers

but i need you guys to help test the video play. and give me feedback.

Hey! I just flashed this firmware and it fixed my rebooting issue I had when I kept trying to get on Play Store. Thanks for that But now, the sound doesn't work and video on netflix is glitchy And I'm not sure if that problem occurred earlier because it kept
                  rebooting.

EDIT: I made a rookie mistake and forgot to check the volume control on the device itself. I turned it up to 10 on my tv and didn't hear anything and assumed it didn't work but found out it was turned down on the device. Tried it on Youtube and sound works perfect. Picture isn't perfect compared to my iPad mini, HTC one, or PC but it's better than what I expected. It's the FPS that lags. It also doesn't glitch as much as I thought on Netflix once it starts to play after a few minutes, although FPS still lag slightly. I haven't tried any other apps but so far I'm just glad it hasn't rebooted on me

                    Installed new ROM dated 7/4/13

I installed new ROM last night. This morning I noticed an update notice in Chinese. I ran a couple of HD videos on XBMC and YouTube. The video output was quite smooth. The awful HD jitter was gone. Checked the Device Information in the Setting and noticed that the vendor firmware was dated July15. So it appears that the updater is working and that the video jitters may be a thing of the past.

So far I have encountered no problems with the ROM other that the usual reboots at start up disabling the WiFi. I do not use Bluetooth and have not checked it. The system seems more stable and crashes much less.

                      - Without the overlay app, I got average=25, min=24, max=30.

Very interesting. Has anyone tested this with Strauzo's kernel?

                        Great

I wiped the mk908 and did a fresh install of the new firmware at the start of this thread.

Video playback is excellent, no noticeable frame skipping, XBMC works well, all videos appears to play via hardware decoding

The only problem is with the WiFi it's still slow but a USB Ethernet adapter fixes that.

I just wish it was able to do audio pass through for Dolby Digital and DTS then it would be just about perfect.

What USB Ethernet adapter are you using? Can you give me a link ?

                            Here' the link

It is only 10/100 so large (4Gb+) movie files will continuously re-buffer.

Does any one know of a gigabit USB Ethernet Adapter that work well with the MK908.

I bought this for the Smart stick that works ok. No where near the power of the MK908! That's why I bought this unit. Patiently waiting for a good working ROM. I have been using this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The description is: Plugable USB 2.0 to 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN
Wired Network Adapter. Works like a charm with the MK908!!

                                unalble to enter flash mode

Hi everyone. I just received my tronsmart mk908 and the extra connectors to get it up and running. I have had it up and running and can connect it to my computer through the otg port; however, I can't get it to pass over into flash mode. Neither of the firmware load apps can see the device to tell it to reboot and mine doesn't seem to have the holes that are mentioned for the blue led and the flash mode switch. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong? Thanks.
