mk908 rebooting, not connecting to wifi

i just received my mk908 and upon first run it will not connect to wifi properly, and it will constantly reset itself. i then tried to install the newest rom that just came out today, but the same issues remain. can someone does anyone have any information on this subject? it's extremely frustrating.

doubt it. it freezes then reboots. and that still wouldn't explain the wifi not working. i'm just going to send it back. i tried a pivos xios ds, which is an enormous piece of garbage. i had high hopes for this. maybe it's shot from the factory?

First and foremost, I'd check an alternate power supply that's 2 or 3A just to make sure. A flaky power supply could easily cause some of your woes.
Once you are sure you have a clean working power supply to your AMP, test your device making sure you are NOT using any Bluetooth devices or wireless dongle devices (wireless keyboard, mouse, etc.)
There were bluetooth fixes in some of the later Tronsmart rom's (Finless hasn't made a ROM with any of the newer Tronsmart ones for the MK908 yet, tho') and I've seen too many wireless devices popping up as the cause of issues on alot of these AMP's (either due to bad compliance with 2.4GHz regs or due to the dongles proximity to the AMP). I found that plugging up wireless dongles to a powered USB hub kept slightly away from the AMP alleviated alot of those troubles. Hope something helps. If not, RMA it.

thanks for the reply. i'll try a new power supply tomorrow before i ship it off. i don't have any BT or wireless devices...except a nintendo wii down there...maybe that could be causing some issues? IIRC the xios had some slight wireless issues as well...maybe it's something with my router? any preferred setups/settings i should be wary of? got a Linksys running a B/G/N mixed network with an auto 20/40MHz channel width, and a WEP encryption.

I am also facing similar issue with my new MK908.The wifi is taking too long to get enabled(on clicking the wifi button under settings) and even if it get's enabled,it cannot find any wifi signals, though i had kept my router at a distance of < 50 cms. After sometimes, the system reboots itself.
I am running an official 4.2 firmware from Tronsmart.

yeah, it's quite frustrating. i tried a couple different power supplies and the thing just keeps shutting down. i'm just going to assume it's DOA. i'll send it back, and try this one more time, and if it doesn't work then i'll just build a new PC for my living room. good luck with your device.

Geekbuying/Tronsmart doesn't test these devices for stability at all before selling, ordering one is a dice roll

I just received mine from geekbuying also and it does the same thing. Every time I try to open Play Store, it reboots. I too tried different power supply and a different firmware and the same shit happens. Just sent them an email to see what I can do about this. It sucks that they let this shit happen.

Hey! I just flashed a firmware from this thread http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...tester-needed! and it fixed my reboot issue although I came to find out my sound doesn't work when I tried Netflix I guess the reboot and wifi issues come from firmware configuration and not power supply
