New remote unsuccessful so far in pairing, wrong remote? - Solved steocullen91

Owner of the mini m8s (S905) and dropped the original remote too many times, have purchased the attached remote and unsuccessful so far in pairing it.

Followed all the youtube guides without any luck, have I purchased the wrong remote?

I think the problem is that the remonte.cfg file is not the same for your new remote.
Means you have to remap all the Keys.
Did you try to check if the new IR Remote General Work?
You can do this with the Camera of your Smartphone and pointing the ir remote to it then you see the, Ir led working.

thanks for the quick reponse, check the IR and yes its glowing on my camera.

Will have a google around on remonte.cfg files, although sounds tricky.

What can I use to get kodi to boot on startup, from here I can control it by browser

No problem. I'm after being messing about with the x96 modifying firmware for days to try get everything right. Might aswell save someone else from pulling their hair out
