I am a new member and I need help understanding how to root my MXQ Android TV Box.
As the topic says I have been trying to root my android TV box without any success. I have tried non computer root apps like KIng Root with no success. I bought a usb cord to connect my android tv box to my former windows computer and it didn't work. I have now LInux on this computer and it still won't see the device. Is there a way to root my android tv box? I only want to root it to change the internal storage to SD card. Thanks.Tags: None

Does your MXQ have a red stripe ? or is it full black box ?
note: the red stripe has two version, with different wifi chips

Ohh... i did not know that...that's cool (blinky)
Hmm..
As alternative option...if you bought the s805, just to run kodi
There's a big chance that your device is libreelec compatible
note: libreelec can run from the sdcard on most devices...as test or just to dualboot (without losing android on nand)

Iv not had this problem myself but after a bit of googling this can happen after installing an update (Root zip is seen by the box as a update)
If the problem come's back,,Try this see if it helps
Go into settings / About device.
Find "Build number" and click on it 6 time's fast
You will then get the message saying: "You are now a developer"
Go back to Home Screen, and then go back to Settings, You will now see the "Developer Options"
Now go to Developer options / Drawing Section or Rendering Section / Find "Turn off hardware overlays" or "disable hardware overlays"
