MXQ total brick

I have an MXQ board version s805-v1-2
Installed wrong image to it and then got stuck on permanent blue light...
could not get pc to recognise it and could not do sd recovery method or
usb burning tool method,,,toothpick in av hole no success still stayed on blue light.
searched on line and found this video how to un-brick leelbox.I know it's not for mxq
but thought I would give it a try...and success it worked
was able to then install correct working firmware for my mxq with reset pin and sd card method
not flash method as in video...
working rom with working wifi...KOT49H.2015720 test keys now all good...

Hi, can you tell me where you got the ROM to unbrick? My MXQ has the same issue, blue light and no HDMI out.

If you look at video it was about the fourth set of pins along you will know when it is right pins as light on front of box will go out temporarily
then just try each set of pins to the left of that and when you hit right ones you will hear a slight buzzing noise...Then I installed firmware with reset pin and sd card...
at least on mine that was the case

and it will take you to download for this rom ( mxq-ota-0725swe ) this is the ony working one I found that wifi was working...
there are newer roms for mxq on the site but tried them and I did not get wifi with them...

How did it go have you managed to unbrick it...forgot to say in my post after I found pins that made light go out then moved left from there till
I found the 2 pins that made a slight buzzing when I touched them, that worked for me...
check post above to see where I got working rom with working wifi...cheers

That didn't work for me, what worked was with the box OFF and the SD Card inserted to short pins 7 and 8 and then plug the power cord, then the recovery started installing the ROM.
I used the ROM MXQ-TPL-0511 to recover the box and then installed another one which got the WiFi working again.

Thanks a lot bud, I'm running a 5.1.1 ROM now, so far so good...

on my on my amlogic s8o5 mxq m201 and I am now upgraded to KOT49H.20160129 and it left all my preinstalled apps
as they were....and so far controller and wifi working fine...use at own risk
