It is. But Google still controls their apps (Play Store etc) and they are important for the end user, so Google may (may and does) control manufacturers that way. I know that there are a lot manufacturers who don't add GApps to their devices (mostly meant for market in China), but market is more global now and global users needs GApps. So manufacturers need permission from Google to include them.
And as global manufacturers (global meaning more important) of the devices won't update them (coz of no possibility to include GApps), than there is no need for components' (mostly SoC) manufacturers to support newer Android versions, as they won't be sure if it make any profit (they won't get paid for unofficial Roms).

That way, of course indirectly, Google can control Android, even as it's "open source". However being open source, it's possible for devs to create unofficial updates. However if You look into most know Roms (Resurrection Remix, Carbon, LineageOS) You will se that they don't include GApps (they have to be flashed separately). That way there is no problem with missing Vulkan API and need for permission from Google.

Still this statement by Ugoos is only to distract attention from them. RK3288 started with 4.4, so 6.0 was goo accomplishment for nonQualcomm or Exynos chip.
And it was probably coz of Google's choice to not allow update to 7.0+ for devices with GPU without support for Vulkan API (they broke that rule with update for first gen Android One). So it would make RK3288 on the same level as Qualcomm 800/801.

Every OS update also brings new problems that didn't exist before.
I will only know when RK finishes Oreo and I start to build new ROM's for RK3368, RK3328 if it can work.
    WOW mo123
You and your ROMs are very special! I hope nothing happens to you and you are prosperous for many years to come!

Hi mo123, could you please shear your Hph Tv Launcher as apk file? I have H96 - P S905x DLP Mini Projector with Android 6.0.1 and I hope your version will work with this projector..

    First thing.... WOW YOU'RE ALIVE!

Second thing... I still have my MK808b running on performance mode at 1.5Ghz... (RK3066!)

Iam not even sure on what kernel it runs because I use a KENT ROM from "mother russia" forum.

Let's be honest those socs are made to last forever... and if we still lower their lifespan at half by overclocking them their still gonna outlive us...

I understand overclocking more like fine-tuning a car.. It's not just putting more fuel in it (well that too) it's altering the Wright parameters so that it performs best!

I will check if I can add it but it might be difficult as code is hex and source code use decimal numbers that is completely different, you can't just add it as it will cause bootloops.
But will have to test it first if there are no negative side effects if I can get it to work.
I don't like to overclock the CPU as it doesn't provide a sufficient performance increase and degrade lifespan of devices.
Overclocking the RAM, VPU has a far greater increase in overall performance and video playback.
In MM > it's easier to overclock system-wide and leave CPU stock, if preferred. Converting hex to dec shouldn't be an issue, syncing timing across components is what trips people once they start tinkering with this process.

Lifespan degradation - in this context - has been, in my experience, a myth. From HMP tunables to frequency scaling, OC'd systems can be structured for longevity, more than some may think.

I've yet to kill a device by overclocking.

Still have the two RK3368 Z4's I've used for testing, with one still running daily duty on a set.

    Hi ,

for this i think you have to change the "Keylayout File" , somewhere here is a useful Thread ,

but without your Stockfile from the i68 it will not work , because you need this values .

Maybe you can get some Infos here :

and if you want you can upload your Stockfile here :

    good luck / gefattern
