New Amazon Policy regarding streaming media players

A new policy from Amazon's official website which states that streaming media players belongs to the restricted products at Amazon's platform.
This is a new Amazon policy from 2017 and it has been proved by some Amazon TV Box or streaming media player sellers, who have received Amazon warning letters and requests to remove such products in 48 hours or be banned and have their money withheld.

    Amazon's official website states:

“Products offered for sale on Amazon should not promote, suggest the facilitation of, or actively enable the infringement of or unauthorized access to digital media or other protected content. Any streaming media player or other device that violates this policy is prohibited from sale on Amazon.

It is your responsibility to source and sell products that do not promote, promise the facilitation of, or actively enable the infringement of or unauthorized access to digital media or other protected content. If you sell these products, we may immediately suspend or terminate your selling privileges and destroy inventory in our fulfillment centers without reimbursement. In addition, if we determine that your account has been used to engage in fraud or other illegal activity, remittances and payments may be withheld or forfeited.”

So if you buy a cheap no name device from Amazon just remember apart from getting no support, the seller's account will be closed overnight if it has anything to do with a fully loaded box or advertise any free movies or illegal Kodi addons.

About time they put a stop to this. You guys can do whatever you want, use Kodi, I don't care. But the people using this a unique selling point when they sell Android boxes is just plain wrong.

Basically if the vendor is promoting the fact that it's great for piracy, they're going to get in trouble. This shouldn't change much IMO - Sellers will just get craftier in the way they word their product pages... or move from Amazon.

I think that Amazon have only done this because of the recent arrests in the UK.

They themselves have been fulfilling and delivering order on behalf of these sellers for quite some time now and therefore they left themselves open to prosecution for aiding and abetting.

In the longer term it is good news though as apart from the sellers that install the addons prior to selling the boxes, it will also ensure that those boxes coming directly from the manufacturers and vendors will be clean, leaving users to make the necessary choices themselves.

The fact hat there are a gazillion sites and Youtuve videos giving people instructions on how to setup the boxes means that it simply pushes uses that want such addons to find what they want.

It will be interesting to see what Youtube and Fleabay do, although many corporations have been protected in the past by the safe harbor agreements.

Having said all that I guess that as long as sellers simply don't imply anything then it will be more difficult to spot those that do sell them pre-loaded.
