I got the nexbox a95x 2gb + 16gb yesterday, and i was just scrolling through some options, and when i wanted to exit kodi, the device just froze. I didn't spend even 10 minutes with this device. When i plugged the power, it wouldn't boot anymore, just the red light is on. I tried to short the pins, as i saw somewhere that could help, but it didn't, maybe i'm doing something wrong. Returning the device would be too much of a hassle. Any help would be appreciated.
I have managed to get the pc recognize this device with the shorting pins out, but now i can't get past the 2% when i try to flash a new firmware with the usb burning tool. Anyone got ideas ?
Can you take the box apart and see if it has a circled R on the bottom of the motherboard. We have noticed that certain revisions have been getting bricked by firmwares and other issues. I myself bought 4 and had 3 of them brick when I tried to use xannytech's mod.
I have taken it apart, i don't have the circeled R version, just the regular. Maybe i'm trying the wrong firmware or something? Can you tell me where do i find the stock firmware for this box?
I'm using Windows 10 x64, and i'm not getting that error, it's seen as Worldcup device. I have tried that firmware already and it's s905x version 2gb+16gb.
I was just wondering in case. See the problem is I've heard the box you have can take about 3 different types of firmware and one could brick another etc. Just try a few firmwares off different s905x boxes and see if the tool will get past 2%. You have nothing to lose like it can't get worse than the way it is now really.
Even try the xannytech rom if you havent already just to see if it works.
If you can try list a few of the firmware you already tried just so I'm not telling you to try something you already did.
I have tried these firmwares. not all but the most, even the 2g + 8g version, because as you said it can't get any worse. https://mega.nz/#F!F9xjTSSa!R0vJfTC2...rr1iQ!85YU1BJA
I have also tried the frankestein firmware or something like that. Where can i find the xannytech rom? Probably something is fried in there, as no solution is working for me. I can take a picture from inside the box if that helps? So in conclusion this happened the first time i got it: opened the box, connected it to my tv, it turned on, the blue light turned on, it was fine for 15 minutes, as soon as i exited kodi it froze, so i disconnected it from the power and then it got stuck on the boot logo, disconnected it a few times again, still the same boot logo. The last thing i did i think was pressing the reset button, and since then it never showed the blue light just the red light, and never turned on. They offered me a partial refund, so i will take it, even though i lost more than half. Thanks everyone for the help.
EDIT: Tried the xannytech rom, still the same :/
It's in this thread. Maybe you should post a picture yeah. Since they're Chinese made there's probably plenty of clones and different revisions. One thing to look into if you can just to rule out the obvious but did you try another power supply just in case that one is faulty and not giving out sufficient power?
EDIT: I doubt it's the power supply since usb burning tool on my x96 doesn't need a power supply to flash but you never know with these boxes.
I wouldn't think so either but just if you had a spare one to test I meant. I'll let you know if I find out anything about it but in the mean time another person with the same box might be able to help you out.
Well if you're going to take the refund, I would suggest you get an Mini M8S II. I got lucky and had Xanny's firmware work on my Yundoo Y6, which was only 62 bucks US. The Mini M8S II sells for 50 bucks or so direct from gearbest if you get the same configuration, 2/16. It's a great little machine, and has several firmwares to choose from.
It really sucks that these newer boxes are being bricked. I've noticed that gearbest and other places have increased the price for the Mini M8S II lately. I guess this is what happens when real firmwares become available haha.
So the Mini M8S II would be the best for that price ? Also i noticed that with 2/16 version people have problems, i don't know if that means anything. Should i get the 2/8 or 2/16? Or what do you think about raspberry pi 3
