Video Problems on RK3188

Hello Guys,

We talking here from Video problems for playback of video files.
Our Dev Strauzo has fix it with his Kernel he build.
I have notice a different Problem with the Video. Rockchip has change the Video Decoder from 4.1 Android to 4.2 Android.

4.1 use the Standard Android Video decoder.
4.2 use a Rockchip Video Decoder they Build with FFMpeg.

This they have not done right. When you play video and look in logcat you see warnings and frame skipping.

Has anybody a Idea we can change this back ?

So you are saying that if we managed to put android 4.1 into an rk3188 device the problem
Will be solved?
I am not sure but i remember reading some users complaining about video playback of rk3188 devices on android 4.1 as well.

i'm having a terrible time getting bluetooth to work on any rom I can find.

Let's stop buying rockchip.

They're obviously inept.

My money will go to another device most certainly.

Without being explicitly stated, I am going to assume this forum is either devoted to or supported by geekbuying and by default rockchip.

There is almost no discussion and little development for alternative devices.

At least here.

Rockchip 3188 is a failure in any currently available stick implementation.

To continue to poke at it arduously one issue at a time appears futile.

I'd be more interested in learning about viable alternatives to these failed devices.

You can buy what you want, we never say what or where you must buy. We can suggest you based in our xperience, but thay is all.

Each platform needs a specific learn time, I learned about rockchip platform, cause I found a big community and people here, like Bob, supersport, neomode,etc... who teach me about this platform. And people like galland, alok, omegamoon, 0lek, etc... Who got linux working in this sticks, so maybe you assumed bad.

If you or anyone want to develop for another platform you are welcome, there is a section in forum to requests new devices.

About Geekbuying, they give some developers devices to test teview and develop on them, like other shops. At the rest of users they give us updates, and support with this devices, they come here to announce new updates, new products, and to support users, like more shops, are they perfect? For sure not, but at least they are a trusted shop, and here you can see all type of oppinions, the forum staff respects all of them, positives and negative opinions.

About rockchip, they sell cheap devices with a really good performance, and with a great community of developers behind, are they perfect devices? For sure not, they dont want to share his sources, not complain GPL laws and some times they have big bugs.
