Experiences using neomode rom for mxq pro

I have read the entire thread about the NEOMODE CUSTOM ROM MK808B PRO S905 & MXQ PRO S905

I am 99% sure that this neomode firmware MK808B_PRO_S905_NCR_15_1_20160506 will work on my mxq pro.
my mxq box is not a 4k or quick. the text on the top is "MXQ PRO" currently i am running version aosp on p200. p200-userdebug 5.1.1 LMY47V 20151226 test-keys.

Before flashing it with usb tool, i really would appreciate if someone could confirm that neomode version will work on my box.
Do i have to backup any keys, or will the neomode version also have test key?
    Are the neomode version rooted?
And finally is it better then the stock version?
Thanks in advance for any reply

If you want something different try LibreElec from here:

Just Linux and Kodi nothing more.

Hi Neomode. I installed your firmware and it works perfectly. I now want to restore stock firmware before passing the box on to a friend. Your firmware has disabled my reset button. The same button I used to install your firmware. When I hold in the button and turn the box on it continues to load your build instead of entering recovery mode. Any ideas?

Install it via USB burning tool.
You don't need to press that button.
Start USB burning tool press start and then connect the device.
Now Burning should Start right away.

Thanks Neomode. I'll give that a go once I can find my stock firmware in a img format. All I've found so far is the sd card files.

Update: That worked. You Sir are a genius. Thanks for your time.

Seems I killed the box altogether. After installing what I thought was stock firmware I found that the remote control didn't work. After some research I found firmware that also matched my box. I installed it from the sd card with the update app and now it won't start at all. The red light comes on and I get a black screen. USB Burning Tool no longer picks it up. That's what I get for messing around too much. Seems to be bricked properly this time.
