Not possible on that device.
You can perhaps try a Kodi launcher app.

Yes of course Android is a bit annoying when all you really want is Kodi.

Nevertheless, this box seems to be doing a great job with Kodi 17 RC-1. I simply leave it running all the time, maybe reboot once a week.
