Confusion reigns on SkyGo on M8

    Hi everyone

    Be gentle.
In my time I have hacked the XBox, PS3, PS2, Fire Tablets (that was hard), Kindles etc.
I have even changed the firmware from the shit one on my OTT M8 to the Finless.

My dilemma maybe simple to you but getting my head around the whole root/unroot thing.

The OTT M8 (authentic) has the Finless fw on it.
I want to put my (authentic) SkyGo app on it for upstairs. So I can watch the football in peace.
However it now says the device is rooted and will not install.
If I put the stock rom back on (found on here), will the device be classed as stock? i.e. unrooted?

Ironically my BT Sport app works absolutely fine on the rooted firmware!

    All help very much appreciated

If you put the stock firmware on, it will still be semi rooted and refuse to work.
Skygo blocks rooted devices and HDMI output on tv boxes, so you are going to have other problems too apart from the rooted message.

      Thanks for that mo123
And Sky have never looked at 'closed systems' not working!
People can buy a shuttle pc and stick it under the TV for less than a tablet/android box

Contrary to that, I have SkyGo on a stock Minix Neo X5 working in the kids room (via hdmi and ethernet). All original and authentic. No old apk's or anything like that
The only problem with that is the football is so jerky when it hits the HD because it's a dual core.
