need some help with t428

guys i need some help really. i wanted to do a rom dump from the t428 and i was installing the drivers and everything went ok. but i started to see that the stick started to act crazy because it was being powered from the usb port of my pc. my pc recognises the stick as an unknown device. i changed the cable with an other one but it still doesnt recognize the stick it says unknown device. i uninstalled all drivers and tried reinstalling them but still nothin. tried to install drivers after pressing reset button still nothing. pls any help would be great. thx. i only hope i havent fried it. thx

I have the MK908, but I think the process is the same. Please verify that it is before continuing.

I do NOT think that you want the T428 to be powered externally during the flash process.

You need to attach the included USB cable to the OTG port. Press and hold the flash button and plug the PC end of the OTG cable into a USB port on your computer. Continue to hold the flash button for roughly 3-5 seconds while your PC detects the T428 in flash mode.

Releash the flash button and proceed to install the rockchip flash drivers (included in the Finless rom zip files). Just in case, now power down your PC. Unplug the USB cable. Power back up and plug the USB cable in after Windows has reached the desktop.

Now launch your flash tool and see if your device shows up properly.

im damn angry to this pc sticks

you know what guys, i`ve spent the last 6 months following this dumb ass mini pc sticks, i was fascinated but now that i got the t428 it broke in one fu--cki-ng day well im done with it. guess im gonna throw it out of the window. and by the way ive been having my desktop windows pc for almos 5 years and well ask me any problem: Answer is :fuc--kin--g nooooooo. So windows desktops still rule. fakk this damn pc sticks, chinese sellers and faaak all this its not worth it anymore and im damnnnnn angry

What will hapen if i solder an usb otg port in the t428 part where there is no port but there are the pins for it. Will it work as an otg port. If anyone has tried that can u confirm that it works???? Pls i really need to make it work. I cant stand the fact that i can not flash a custom rom or that i cant root the device.

... The USB power port is also the OTG port. You dont need to solder anything.

I know that usb port is otg port too but the data connection is not workin anymore on the usb otg port,l. I have been sayin that for 2 days

try a different cable. Like one for your phone perhaps, and maybe another port on your PC? I know the USB cable included with the stick can be junk, and also front mounted USB ports can sometimes run on different chipsets than the rear mounted USB ports on the PC, so you may try to switch between the two, just in case of incompatibility. I know that my stick wont be recognized on my PC with my USB3.0 ports but the 2.0 ports have no issues.

Try and boot your PC with "driver enforcement" turned off, and hold down the button on the t428 before and while you plug it in, then release once you hear the USB connect sound. Then go into "Device Properties" in Windows and make sure you install the driver manually and don't try and run off what Windows installs automatically. Make sure when you are doing it you have the cable already into the PC and then plug into the t428. I have run into issues leaving the cable attached to the t428 and then plugging into the PC before.

I have tried other cables and all usb ports and even on another pc with windows xp and no go. This is what i get when i connect it to win 7
