    iFive X2 4.2.2 RileyROM 1.3 [Feedback]

This is based on the firmware update released by iFive on 7-23-13.

I'm not really sure what iFive changed with this ROM, but they released it 5 days after the last ROM. So, I decided to get this one out a little quicker.

    This ROM is:

    Rooted
    Debloated
    Init.d support
    Busybox links added
2, 4, 6, or 8 gig user app space by choosing the appropriate parameter file.

    Thanks to:

Tattman65 for his boot animation graphics
    Petrus for Reboot.apk
    900Supersport for his flash tool

There is the link to the download page:

    Download

If this ROM makes a difference for you, please consider a donation to support future RileyROM's here at Freaktab.com Donate!!!

Did you try the 1.2 ROM? Does it work?

I ran into kernel problems with this ROM, for some reason.

Here is the last working version I know about:

          Download

I will look at this new ROM some more.

Maybe this is not the right place to post this, but I am thinking about buying one of these.

It's the only I've seen tablet that meets my requirements:

            7 > Screen Size > 10
            Good Resolution (True HD)
Quad core Processor (I have an RK3088 Android HDMI Stick, and I am happy with that chip)
            2G RAM
            Stereo Speakers (Preferably front facing)
USB Charging / No Coaxial or Proprietary Connectors.
            SD card slot.

            But I have a question.

Can I update the FW (This ROM, for Example, or Stock iFive) without Windows.

In other words can I just put a update.zip on an SD, and install from recovery?

            Can I install using fastboot?

I do not use Windows, so I cannot easily use the RK Updater .exe file.

Is there a custom recovery that will allow me to do update from SD?

            Thanks.

Take a look at the new Pipo M9 Pro as an alternative.

I'm having trouble getting my ROMs to work on this tablet for some reason.

At least, for now, all of my ROMs must be flashed using the Windows based RK Flash Tool.

What version of Windows do you have?

Have you read the First Time User's Guide? There is detailed instruction on how to install the drivers.

Have you ever flashed a ROM for another Rockchip device? If you have, you can do some things to make the existing drivers work.

I have win7 and i read the guide. My Problem is that when i wanna install the driver its called "already newest installed" . but it isnt.. i cant even go deeper (in path) then the win7 folder. sadly i didnt flashed a rockchip device yet. Tried many things for hours didnt geht it.

I'm afraid I can't help much from there.

You might try deleting the device from device manager and trying again...but Windows keeps the drivers.

Do you have an alternate PC to try on. It is easier on Windows XP.

Each tablet has a manual way to get into flash mode. Usually it is a combination of reset, power or volume keys. Sounds like you are just not able to get into flash mode the easy way.

If the red android appears, you are in recovery mode...not flash mode. You will have a black screen if you are in flash mode.

I'm not sure what you mean, but the drivers need to be installed before you can flash. The flash tool will say LOADER FOUND if it is connected.
