    MK908 kernel for up to 1.9GHz ?

    Hi,

Now that I figured the way (yes I'm noob) to have selectable kernel to flash via the ROM_Flash_Tool_137, tried to search for a overclocked kernel around to the Tronsmart MK908, yet nothing spotted.
Is there any pointer for me to look at for a ready-made overclock-enabled kernel?

    Thanks for any suggestion.

It would certainly be nice to have OC kernel however except you plan to install some kind of passive or active coiling solution, oc this chip set will make no sense. I think unit will overheat when working constantly at 1.4Ghz and probably restart at some point. I didn't conduct precise tests but have mk908 and cube u30gt2... And set CPU where I follow time in stats frequency and sometime touch unit during diverse payback or when it crashes. 1.6Ghz tops, 1.8ghz was just marketing gimmick. The main issue with anything rk chip set right now is weak android is implementation. Try doing anything while some app is installing or use chrome browser and you will feel like you are on single core 1Ghz CPU from 2009. We need some great developer to replace Chinese interpretation of android with nexus android code. Hopefully this happens sooner rather then later.

What you say does make sense indeed as this is something that I too share as a thought, that the o.s. implementation is very poor. Most likely they wanted to go out as soon as possible and re-used ready made code that its not optimized for the chip. Hopefully the SDK 2.0 will make a difference but nobody assures us that there will be soon (if any) an update to cover current minipc devices.

Regarding overheating, working constantly on 'performance' at 1.6GHz does get hot, yet with a simple 'push-pull' pair of mini-fans its just fine from what I've seen on my little diy cooling project.

RockChip is advertizing those CPUs as 1.8GHz so with proper cooling that has to be a safe operating frequency and that is what I try to achieve.
