    CS918 quad core boxes

I'm considering an Android TV box. I like the responsiveness of quad core units, and a few are appearing with quad core CPU's. I'd like a unit with plenty of reserve power for full uncompressed 1080p, or as new codecs come out.

CS918 Quad Core Android 4.2 TV Box

I will be using optical/coaxial out to a av processor, Dolby Digital & DTS. HDMI video to a 1080p TV.

I have been reading XBMC problems with certain devices/chipsets, to do with stability, DD/DTS output via optical/coaxial, video playback, hardware acceleration etc. There is the Sumvision Cyclone Android x2, this is dual core.

What are people's experiences with Quad core android boxes, XBMC, DTS & Dolby Digital audio streams, etc

    Hi
I have the cs918 with lewy's rom, works very well. My audio is analogue, but xbmc runs very well, even with Aeon Nox. The video playback is smooth, but only 1080, and I have noticed the audio is about 0.5 sec out of sync, but that is easy to fix in xbmc. That may have been because I was having wifi problems, I have not tested it since changing the channel on my wifi.

DroidMote is fantastic, definitely worth buying and auto-starting on your CS918, but needs a good wifi too.

    Mark.
