Kodi Landmark EU ruling for streaming

Up until yesterday, whilst downloading an illegal copy of any TV show. movie etc was clearly defined as illegal, there was a grey area with regards to streaming because unlike a downloaded copy, which was stored on your machine of choice, a stream was only there temporarily and so many users have been able to stream the latest content without fear of prosecution because it was essentially exempt from the right of reproduction.

But now the EU courts have ruled that the temporary reproduction of a copyright-protected work, obtained without the consent of the copyright holder, is NOT exempt from the "right of reproduction".

This will of course affect other methods of streaming such as throw a browser but Kodi of course is the main focus at the moment.

The ruling also covers the sale of devices that are preloaded with addons to access illegal content, so the ruling has a wider aspect too.

    Thats bad news
I Hate the "preloaded" device offered... it give a bad name to android/ *elected/kodi and users how use these devices normally everyday

But streaming is needed...think of the many online radio channels and TV channels offered by ISP
    * we don't need the situation in Germany..you are on vacation..watch a streamed movie from WiFi offered..get to pay for the movie watched when vacation ends ( was on news )
Streaming must remain Grey.. in my view

    Cheers
