Adding a flash reset button to a MK802III

The annoying thing about a MK802III is that it doesn't have a button to force it into flash mode if you bricked it. The only way out is to open the case and short 2 tiny pins on the flash chip:

I was wondering if anyone succeeded in adding a hardware button for this purpose, perhaps just by soldering it to those 2 pins?

    I also found this image:

Does shorting those 2 pads also work? The official instructions from rikomagic only mention the 2 pins on the flash chip. The pads would be easier to solder though.

I gave it a try: shorting the pads on power on got the device maskrom mode, so it works.

I'm going to try and solder a switch on it and post the results here.

Wow, that's some fiddly soldering you've got to do there

I do not understand, that it was not done on the manufacturing level.
I am waiting for your pictures and I will do the same.

Have you tried the Finless 2.0 rom on your MK802III ?
As soon as the switch is installed I will try it
